Parent Involvement Hours

For information about the Granville Christian Academy parent involvement hours policy and requirements, please reference your Parent/Student Handbook. 
Below is a pre-approved outline of volunteer opportunities provided by the school Principal. In addition, the weekly GCA Nation E-Newsletter will announce where these approved volunteer opportunities are posted as they happen throughout the year. Completed volunteer hours should be submitted to the school receptionist. Volunteer forms are at the front desk to be completed and signed by a staff member.
Please note: a current background check must be on file for any volunteer opportunity that involves working with students. Please use the following link to complete the form.

Involvement Opportunities

School Events
(Limited number of opportunities available, check with the Principal’s office.)
  • Chaperoning field trips
  • Judging at ACSI student grades 1-8 competitions (Spelling Bee, Speech Meet, Math Olympics)
  • Elementary Room Parent
  • Assist High School Class Staff Advisor
  • Helping with the Book Fair
  • Helping in concessions at athletic events:
  • Chaperone/Line Judge/Ref. for Dodgeball Tournament
  • iReach volunteer 
  • Thanksgiving basket delivery drivers
  • Aiding with drama production
  • Sports team coaches
  • Lunch helpers
  • Car line helpers
  • Helping classroom teacher (working with students, tutoring, etc.)
Special Events
(Limited number of opportunities available, check with the Principal’s office.)
  • Chaperoning Fall Formal, High School bonfire, Winter Party, Homecoming Dance
  • Helping out at GrandFriend’s Day

PTF Organized Events

(Limited number of opportunities available, check with the Principal’s office.)

  • Pastries with Parents (Book Fair)
  • Parent Teacher Conference set-up/clean-up
  • Teacher appreciation day luncheon (May)
  • Elementary/Middle School Field Day serving
  • Uniform Sale
  • Staff Christmas breakfast set-up
  • Christmas Store
Volunteer Hour Purchase Possibilities
($10 per service hour during the school year)
($25 per unfulfilled service hour after May 1st) 
  • Snack donation for games for sports teams
  • Monetary donation to the school
  • Purchase of needed equipment for school or sports
  • Purchase of supplies or food donation that is requested by the teacher
  • Purchase of snacks/supplies for sports and/or drama concessions
  • Purchase of materials, supplies, food, etc. for drama productions
  • Purchase of food and supplies for various school functions including: 
    • GrandFriend’s Day
    • Veterans Day Assembly
    • High School Bonfire
    • High School Math Club Corn Maze
    • High School winter party
    • Elementary/Middle School Music Concert
    • Student Council Dodge Ball Tournament
    • NHS Inductions
    • Math Club Meetings
    • Miscellaneous needs for iReach day
    • PTF activities (conference dinners, field day lunch, etc.)
    • Items for Christmas Store
    • Thanksgiving Baskets (baskets, turkeys, etc.)
