Jeff Dalzell, principal of Granville Christian Academy, has announced students Lucy Dickson and Perrianna Haga have been named National Merit Scholarship “Semi-Finalists,” and Kalene Close has been named a “Commended Student” in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.

“GCA is proud to announce that two of the five seniors named as semi-finalists in all of Licking County are GCA seniors,” Dalzell stated in a school press release.

About 16,000 semi-finalists and 34,000 commended students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.

Semi-finalists and commended students placed among the top 50,000 students of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), according to the release.
