Our Story

Granville Christian Academy has been educating children in Licking County, Ohio for over 20 years. In 1997, Cathy Pound, wife to Pastor Jeff Pound of Spring Hills Baptist Church, began homeschooling several middle school students from her church body. By year two, the demand for private Christian education far exceeded what Cathy expected, so she founded Grace Haven. Several years later, as Grace Haven continued to grow, the school became known as Granville Christian Academy. Then, in 2014, Granville Christian Academy became its own non-profit entity apart from Springs Hills Baptist Church.

The primary purpose of the school was (and remains to this day) to partner with parents and local Church bodies to develop spiritual leaders for Christ. From the first handful of home-schooled middle school students, to the more than 200 students enrolled today, God has faithfully led students to Granville Christian Academy.

Each student and family member is part of the story the Lord is authoring through Granville Christian Academy. As the story of Granville Christian Academy continues to unfold, the Author remains the same. So does His eternal story. May He receive the glory.

Granville Christian Academy has been chartered by the Ohio Department of Education since 1997. Since then, we have continued to maintain the Standards outlined by the State of Ohio for chartered non-public schools. Granville Christian Academy currently serves 260 enrolled students.
